RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS IMPORTANT NOTICE This text is a reference for the website demonstration and is not a final legal contract. It must be reviewed, completed, and adapted to Rentas Caribe’s actual operation with legal counsel in the Dominican Republic before it is published or used for a rental. 1. Scope The lessor temporarily provides the vehicle identified in the reservation, together with the keys and confirmed accessories, for personal use during the contracted dates, locations, and category. A category reservation does not guarantee a specific make or model unless confirmed in writing. 2. Renter requirements The primary driver must meet the minimum age stated for the reservation and present a current, readable license, an identity document or passport, and a card in the driver’s name for the applicable guarantee or deposit. The lessor may reasonably request additional information to verify identity, driving eligibility, and payment authorization. Delivery may be refused if documents do not match, are expired, or show a restriction. 3. Reservation, rate, and taxes The rate is calculated from the dates and category available when the quote is made. The minimum rental in this demonstration is one day. Prices are shown in USD and the seed applies 18% ITBIS to the configured concepts. GPS is USD 6 per day, a child seat is USD 8 per day, and additional coverage is USD 18 per day. Additional drivers are registered as authorized people with an identity document, license, and expiration date, appear in the agreement, and may carry a per-rental or per-day fee configured by the merchant. Changes to dates, category, duration, extras, or drivers may change the total. 4. Payment and guarantee This demonstration is configured for pay-on-delivery. An online confirmation does not by itself mean that an advance charge has been made. When the vehicle is delivered, the renter pays the confirmed total using a method accepted by the merchant and authorizes the applicable guarantee or deposit. The merchant must provide the amount, release conditions, and any possible deductions in writing. 5. Permitted use The vehicle must be used prudently, in accordance with Dominican traffic laws, and only by registered drivers. Driving on open public roads and carrying passengers or luggage within the vehicle’s capacity are permitted. The driver must lock the vehicle, keep the keys secure, and take reasonable precautions against theft or damage. 6. Prohibited use Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that affects driving; racing, speed testing, or unauthorized off-road activity; transporting illegal substances, dangerous goods, or passengers for hire; subleasing the vehicle; removing parts or altering the odometer; crossing borders without authorization; and allowing an unregistered person to drive are prohibited. The renter is responsible for the consequences of prohibited use. 7. Fuel and mileage The starting fuel level is recorded during the inspection. The vehicle must be returned at the agreed level. The renter is responsible for missing fuel and the applicable refueling service. Included kilometers and excess-mileage charges are shown in the vehicle details or contract; if they are not specified, they must be confirmed before delivery. Mileage is recorded at the beginning and end of the rental. 8. Condition, damage, and liability The parties must inspect the exterior, interior, tires, glass, accessories, fuel, and mileage before departure. Photos or a handover report may be part of the rental record. The renter must promptly report any accident, breakdown, loss, theft, or damage and follow the lessor’s and authorities’ instructions. The renter is responsible for new damage, loss of use, extraordinary cleaning, and costs caused by a breach, to the extent permitted by law. 9. Insurance and assistance Applicable coverage must be described in the contract together with exclusions, deductibles, and limits. Additional coverage for USD 18 per day may be available, but it does not automatically remove the driver’s obligations or cover negligence, prohibited use, an unauthorized driver, or excluded damage. The renter should contact the lessor before authorizing repairs, except in an emergency where action is needed to protect life or prevent greater damage. 10. Fines and traffic charges The renter is responsible for fines, tolls, parking, violations, vehicle retention, and administrative costs arising during the rental or notified later by an authority. The lessor may share reservation details with the competent authority when there is a valid request. 11. Return The vehicle must be returned on the confirmed date, time, and location with the keys, documents, accessories, and agreed fuel level. It should be returned reasonably clean and without personal belongings. An early return does not automatically create a refund. A late return may result in charges for additional time, lost availability, transport, cleaning, or recovery, according to the contract and applicable law. 12. Breach and termination The lessor may suspend or terminate the rental for non-payment, false documents, risk to people or property, prohibited use, abandonment, serious damage, or a material breach. The vehicle may be recovered through means permitted by law. Termination does not remove financial obligations already incurred or prevent a claim for damages where appropriate. 13. Changes and cancellations Changes depend on availability and must be confirmed in writing. The specific cancellation and refund policy appears elsewhere on this site. If a flight is delayed or cancelled, the renter must notify the merchant immediately so delivery can be rescheduled where possible; a flight change does not guarantee unlimited availability or automatically remove every charge. 14. Law and jurisdiction This reference document is intended for an operation located in the Dominican Republic. The final version must state the governing law, contractual address, complaint mechanisms, and competent jurisdiction based on legal advice and the nature of each operation. When receiving the vehicle, the renter must read and sign the final agreement, including the inspection, price, deposit, coverage, and return conditions.
